The standard AGM formula — minutes, reports, motions, close — meets the legal requirement and does almost nothing else. Members attend out of duty, if they attend at all.
A genuinely useful AGM does more: it tells a real story about the year, invites honest questions, and gives members a reason to feel like part of something rather than an audience for procedure.
That doesn't mean cutting corners on formality — it means using the required structure as the floor, not the ceiling, of what the meeting achieves.
Your next AGM is either a box ticked or a chance taken. Decide which one on purpose.
