The client you should say no to

Not every dollar is worth what it costs to earn it.

Every growing business eventually meets the client who pays well and drains everything else — the team's patience, the founder's headspace, the goodwill of everyone who has to deal with them.

Saying yes to that client because the revenue looks good on paper is a decision made with half the information. The other half is what that account actually costs you in time, morale and opportunity elsewhere.

The businesses that scale well aren't the ones that take every client. They're the ones with a clear enough sense of who they're for that saying no becomes easy, not agonising.

If one client is costing you more than they're worth, this is the week to have that conversation — with them, or with yourself.
