Business Management

AI for Australian Business Owners

A practical, self-paced course for sole traders, microbusinesses and small businesses.

Nexus Learning Academy

Use AI with confidence, not guesswork.

AI tools can save you hours each week, or create new risks if they are used without thought. This course shows you where AI is worth trying in your business, how to choose and set up tools, how to write prompts that give usable first drafts, and how to check the results before anyone relies on them. You finish with working rules for your staff and data, at least three tested workflows and a 90-day plan.

No coding, paid AI subscription or IT team is needed. Every activity works with a free AI tool or with a supplied fictional business.

Who it is for

Built for Australian business owners.

Owners who have never used AI, or tried it and were disappointed.

Businesses whose staff already use AI and need some order around it.

Health and wellness businesses, for administration and marketing only, not clinical use.

What you will cover

Eight modules, 36 short lessons.

Understand AI and find your starting point

What AI can and cannot reliably do, and where it is worth trying in your business.

Choose tools and set them up responsibly

Compare cost, ease of use, privacy and security, and decide what data can be shared.

Get useful results through better prompting

Write, test and improve prompts, and check output for accuracy, bias and quality.

Marketing, sales, admin and operations

Practical uses across customer experience, administration and business insight.

Build workflows and introduce automation

Map and build at least three workflows, each with a person reviewing the result.

Protect your business and measure results

Set an AI use policy, bring your team with you, run a pilot and plan the next 90 days.

You keep 16 editable Word and Excel tools, including an AI use policy template, prompt library, approved tools register, incident response checklist, pilot measurement worksheet and 90-day plan. Templates are starting points: tailor and approve them before you rely on them.

The course explains national rules and flags where state and territory laws differ. It does not teach you to build AI models and does not cover clinical or other regulated professional decisions. Check with your lawyer and accountant as required.
